Since the very beginning, Portland's hazey dreampop has touched a sensitive chord. From the amicable, at times amorous but also vulnerable bond between Jente Pironet and Sarah Pepels grew a unique musical project centered on the personal and creative relationship between two poles. With their early hit 'Pouring Rain' and their win at The New Exposure 2018, Portland entered through the big gate, to confirm with legendary and emotional performances at Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop. Their debut album 'The Colours Will Stain' in 2019 and nominations for the MIAs in 2020 followed. With 'Lucky Clover', 'Killers Mind' and 'Aftermath', the band built a nice collection of hit singles in a short time.
Earlier this year, Portland headed to London with producer and songwriter Oli Bayston for their second album 'Departures', and you'll recognize them in this season of Love For Music. Just before the release of 'Departures,' Sarah announced her departure, which doesn't stop the band from adding a beautiful new chapter to their story live now. With a new sparring partner, Jente is heading to select summer festivals this summer, including Cactus Festival. Those who had to miss Portland in our beautiful park, or just want to re-live the magic of one of our finest melancholic indie rock acts, will get a second chance at Cactus Club!"
