Do Nothing is a Nottingham quartet with a particular love for the sound of Roxy Music, Talking Heads and Pulp. Frontman Chris Bailey’s sharp penmanship is central to the band’s music, with every Do Nothing song reminding you of an intimate psychodrama. It’s as if you’re walking into a loud pub, where the beer drenched conversations of the locals all melt into each other, with Bailey firing oneliners and non sequiturs at you at incredibly speed. Bass player Charles Howarth, drummer Andrew Harrisson and guitarist Kasper Sandstrom manage to keep up brilliantly with all of this extravagant wordplay, creating an exciting soundtrack to proceedings.
Do Nothing have been getting immense hype from the British press and radio, and most of that has to do with the band’s incredible live reputation. This is exciting guitar music for fans of Wet Leg, Yard Act, and – why not – Arctic Monkeys.
