While the world had locked itself in back in 2020, British post-shoegaze/dreampop quarted bdrmm released their debut album ‘Bedroom’, which instantly had the impact most young bands dream of. NME called it ‘a modern day shoegaze classic’, while Mojo mentioned ‘manna for fans of inventive happy-sad ‘80s guitar pop’, and Clash even said it’s ‘a vital delve into the power of our communal isolation’. With their sound bathing in heavy, feedback-soaked guitars, mechanical Neu!-grooves and dreamy vocals, bdrmm has quickly earned comparisons to genre heavyweights like Ride and My Bloody Valentine, but on their upcoming follow-up ‘I Don’t Know’ (30/06) the band moves way beyond just those influences. The band from Hull is adding piano, strings, electronics, samplers and even the occasional dance beat to their sound, taking inspiration from legendary acts like Radiohead, Boards of Canada, Portishead, Brian Eno and even Eric Satie. It’s the next logical step for a band that has taken the hype from their debut and turned it into confidence to take a big step towards their next level.

‘I Don’t Know’ will be released through Rock Action, the label of those other sonic post-rockers, Mogwai. First single ‘It’s Just a Bit of Blood’ and remixes for acts like A Place To Bury Strangers and Andy Bell already showcase an immense artistic hunger, and an insatiable search for their next musical highlights.
