Niels Broos & Jamie Peetnl

Similar to our ‘own’ BeraadGeslagen, Dutch wonderduo Niels Broos & Jamie Peet create a mix of jazz, hiphop and electronica. The chemistry between them on stage is legendary and grew very organically. They kept running into each other with their other projects, which led to spontaneous jam sessions after soundchecks and rehearsals. It was clear that they hit it off, and soon they were off creating completely improvised live shows together. It has seen them become the ultimate contemporary sound of the Dutch underground.

Keyboard player Niels Broos has played an important part in the works of Binkbeats and Jameszoo, collaborating on the latter’s ‘Brainfeeder’ album. Drummer Jamie Peet has performed with Kris Bowers and Dominic J. Marshall. Both of them have their own unique sound and style and stand tall among the most influential musicians of the Netherlands. Their music is reminiscent of Taylor McFerrin and Marcus Gilmore, although hints of Autechre and Aphex Twin are never too far off.

Mattias De Craeneb

The brightest rising star in the Flemish jazz universe has to be Mattias De Craene. The saxophonist from Ghent has been creating his own niche within the belpop landscape with his experimental blowing style as part of Nordmann. With his other project, MDC III, De Craene managed to blow everyone’s mind at festivals like Pukkelpop and Leffingeleuren. MDC III, or Mattias De Craene trio, has now evolved into Mattias De Craene Solo: an ‘instrumental trip where repetition and minimalism share the spotlight in a movie without picture’.
