JFDR is the soloproject by Iceland’s Jófríður Ákadóttir, a member of electronic indieband Samaris and lo-fi folkband Pascal Pinon. Music blog Line of Best Fit, which is known for spotting promising artists, put her on their ‘ones to watch’ list in 2017, and even Björk has admitted to being a fan.

JFDR combines minimalistic soundscapes, effective electronics and poetic folk with her voice, which sounds like ‘a flow between a rough sea and still waters’. March 2020 will see the release of her new album ‘New Dreams’. Fans of Efterklang’s or Sigur Rós’s sound, Julianna Barwick’s and Múm’s captivating electronics or Fever Ray’s, K Á R Y Y N’s or FKA Twigs’ experimental pop should definitely check out JFDR.
