Kel Assouf was founded more than a decade ago as a project of the Nigerian musician Anana Harouna. The band grew into a real power trio with, next to Harouna, keyboard player Sofyann Ben Youssef and drummer Olivier Penu. They bring raw and hypnotic desert blues about both Harouna's home country and the Sahara as well as Brussels and the Western culture. After 'Tin Hinane' and 'Tikounen' they're releasing a new album in 2019. For fans of Tinariwen, Tamikrest, Bombino but also Jon Spencer, Led Zeppelin or Queens of the Stone Age.

With Projet Global, we surf the evergoing wave of music outside our western mindset. We have put aside the cliché label of ‘world music’, and went our own way, defining the series as ‘new engaged sounds from Africa and beyond’. ‘Beyond’ is a broad concept: this series could just as well host music from say, Cuba or South-Korea. Or from your own back yard, with the whole global village thing.
