Alpha Steppa is a UK reggae, dub and bass music producer. He is the son and nephew of roots dub duo Alpha & Omega. Alpha Steppa released his first record, via his own label, Steppas Records in 2010, since then he has released numerous singles, EP's and remixes. Alpha Steppa also works alongside his father and aunt (Alpha & Omega) producing collaborative works under the shared alias, Dub Dynasty.

Alpha Steppa has collaborated with various notable reggae artists, including, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Gregory Isaacs and Lutan Fyah. Alpha Steppa has developed a sound which links roots reggae with contemporary bass music, described in Mixmag by Joe Muggs as "a UK producer with a rich roots reggae heritage who's injected that into a dubstep framework" and "a serious player in the soundsystem world".

Alpha Steppa’s Steppas Records, established in 2010, is an independent hands-on record label, specialising in conscious soundsystem music with a deep roots foundation. Working with and developing new artists as well as some of the most established in the scene, including Gregory Isaacs and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, the unique dubbed out style of Steppas Records draws upon the sounds of Jamaican Roots, UK Dub and World Music filtered through an exploration of the newer sounds of contemporary bass and electronic music.

Born into two different cultures, Nai-Jah grew up understanding the struggles and persecutions resulting from colonialism. He moved to France in 2006 where he eventually started a reggae/afro band, with the singularity of having a sousaphone as
bass. Influenced from early age by traditional Igbo music and roots reggae, the band still tours Europe today. It was at Dubcamp 2016 when Nai-Jah met with the dub movement and it’s desire to spread conscious and uplifting music. The meeting with Alpha Steppa paved the way for a deepened comprehension of the movement and a sincere mutual understanding and friendship. The profound songwriting of Mahakwe A.K.A Nai-Jah, seizes conscious topics like the political struggle and corruption in his home country, Nigeria and of mankind’s never ending greed. Nai-Jah has one goal, to shake up body and mind.
