The music of multi-instrumentalist and composer Emily Wells floats between contemporary classical, atmospheric dream pop and electronic sounds. Her compelling neo-gospel, built from percussion loops, violin and her powerful voice, she plays live like a full-fledged one-woman band, surrounded by instruments, drums and effects pedals. Under her at times dramatic, almost gothic-sounding music almost imperceptibly moves a compelling groove that betrays Wells' love for 90's hip-hop. As influences she names Wu-Tang Clan alongside John Cage and Phillip Glass. Questlove, drummer and founder of The Roots, declared himself a fan and released her album 'Promise' (2016) on the label of his band. See Emily play!

With her new project Tristan, singer and composer Isolde Van den Bulcke from Ghent, Belgium mixes the sound of Lianne La Havas, Boards of Canada and Wayne Shorter into a wayward blend of ambient pop. At the beginning of March her second EP will be released. In the meantime Tristan was able to win souls as a support for Tamino in Ancienne Belgique. The international blogosphere and the Flemish music press keeps a close eye on her, we kindly suggest that you do the same.
