After their first EP in 2018, winning StuBru’s De Nieuwe lichting at the start of 2019 and an overflowing festival calendar in the summer of that same year, Mooneye are ready to go hard. During their participation in De Nieuwe Lichting in 2019, Mooneye was the odd one out. Singer-songwriter Michiel Libberecht was rightly crowned the winner with ‘Thinking About Leaving’. In the past year, the band spent time in the studio with top producers Pieterjan Maertens (Tamino) and Jo Francken (Het Zesde Metaal) to create a follow up to that first EP. Comparisons to Fleet Foxes and Neil Young will continue to follow the band. The new Mooneye still mixes folk, rock and indie pop like no other. It’s very noticeable on ‘Bright Lights’, the first and more cheerful single from the new album. Dark undertones remain one of the band’s staples as well, which becomes clear rather quickly on ‘Fix the Heater’, the second and remarkably angrier sounding single from that same album. Is this a case of schizophrenia? No, it’s just Mooneye. The record will be released by MayWay Records later this year, and the band are happy to present it to you during this club tour.

Bluai20:45

24-year-old Bluai releases her songs out into the world from her student accommodations. She sings about the recognizable things in life, love and heartache. Everything is packed in a warm blanket of lo-fi bedroom pop. Often calm and dreamy, other times cheerful and light. Fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Julia Jacklin, Julien Baker and Courtney Barnett should reserve a chamber in their hearts for this new singer-songwriter talent.
