Cactus Muziekcentrum non-profit association is a professional organisation presenting a wide variety of contemporary music: stretching from roots, rock and reggae over dub, hip hop and electronics to dubstep, drum 'n' bass and many more. MaZ is the venue where Cactus presents most of its concerts. We use variable concert hall set ups, with a capacity ranging from 100 to 1.000 standing places. CACTUSFESTIVAL is our yearly open air music festival, taking place in the fairytale-like Minnewaterpark. Cactusfestival embraces world music in its broadest possible sense: no cheap exotics, but a most beautiful globalisation, tearing down the walls between different genres, continents and people. It's a man-sized festival, offering an easygoing atmosphere and no heartbreaking dilemmas: there's only one stage so visitors can enjoy every minute of the full-sized concerts, from A tot Z. Cactus Muziekcentrum is also the organisation behind KLINKERS, a summer city festival with a solid and surprising cultural offering. It's a festive and adventurous journey (mostly free of charge) composed of concerts, films and comedy performances through Bruges' city centre. BENENWERK is the festive end of Klinkers, Flanders' biggest (free!) ballroom. On different stages we display all kinds of dance music, from tango, muzette, salsa, funk and lindy hop to hip hop, capoeira, Brazilian beats or French touch. MUSIC IN MIND is our two-yearly Festival of Imaginative Music: a border crossing dive into contemporary music with overwhelming imaginative powers: from singer-songwriter to post-rock band to dj or vj. |
